Hundreds of Baby Turtles Released into the sea in Bangka Island

Helping baby sea turtles to hatch and released them in the sea was one of our effort to save and boost the population of these vulnerable species in order to protect the coastal environment. More than 300 of baby sea turtles were released into the sea by Alobi Foundation as a wildlife conservation group along with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, marine police, PT. Timah and Gempa 01 on Thursday 4th of August.

For the past few months Alobi has taken care the eggs soon after we got the eggs from the marine police which would have been sold by poachers. Thus, we had been moving these eggs before they were hatched and few days ago finally we helped them out by digging carefully.

We are so excited to be part of this incredible experience to witnessed hundreds of sea baby turtles to hatch and release.

Currently, the population of sea turtles have been declined due to illegal wildlife trade.  Thus, through this event we hope that we are be able to save more turtles and release them back to their habitat and be able to encourage local people and volunteers to protect the existence of wildlife.
