The Alobi Foundation and BKSDA Sumatera Selatan (South Sumatera) received a 10 kg pangolin (Manis Javanica) from residents of Simpang Rimba Village, South Bangka, after it entered a local settlement. The residents contacted the Alobi Foundation and BKSDA and transported the pangolin 80 km to the Alobi. There, the pangolin underwent a medical check-up at the Alobi Babel Animal Rescue Center in Kampung Reklamasi, Air Jangkang, before being released back into its natural habitat.
The Alobi Foundation commends the public for their involvement in wildlife conservation and urges immediate reporting of any encounters with protected wildlife to the nearest BKSDA, GAKKUM KLHK, or POLRI. The foundation emphasizes the critical need to stop hunting pangolins to prevent their extinction.
